I lived through my peak wedding era in India, when all our friends and family started getting married. Everyone knows there's a whole wardrobe dedicated to wedding clothes. It gets raided a few times every year, then packed away carefully until the next season.

We're a family of women (mostly), so we'd constantly borrow each other's clothes. There was a section of the wardrobe dedicated to jewelry. Ma kept hers locked away though ours was a lot easier to get to.

Looking back, those pieces were rarely put away. They'd end up on bedside tables, my work desk, set aside for the upcoming weddings..
